Queensland motorists facing hefty penalties for range of offences as fines skyrocket.

Queensland has become one of the most expensive states in which to get caught flouting road rules, with a raft of penalties increasing from Friday.
As of July 1, Queenslanders who are caught going between 1km and 10km over the speed limit will face a fine of nearly $290, up from $183.
